AW Honors Presents: Future is Female Awards

Calling all NewGens!

This year’s Advertising Week New York is searching for outstanding female leaders - the emerging stars of our industry - to apply for the first Future Is Female Awards presented by Advertising Week and Ampersand.

We have drawn together some of the most prominent industry faces and names to choose nine exceptional female NewGens to form our group of award-winning women, who will be honored on the opening night of Advertising New York at a special celebration ceremony and concert.

Advertising Week and Ampersand will honor these rising stars of the industry in order to shine a spotlight on the NewGen leaders who will define the advertising and marketing industry in years to come through their career accomplishments and role model behavior.

The winners will be announced at Advertising Week’s Opening Concert on September 23, 2019, where the legendary TLC (“No Scrubs”, “Waterfall”, “Creep”) will perform, in front of thousands of their peers from the advertising and marketing industry.

“Now more than ever, elevating emerging stars, shining the spotlight on the rising generation, and recognizing those who are breaking barriers in industry historically dominated by men is vital,” said Ruth Mortimer, Managing Director of Global Education and Development at Advertising Week. “TLC did that when they broke through in the 1990s and are still doing it today.”

Mortimer will chair a panel of Judges set to include Gina Grillo, CEO of The Advertising Club; Deb Josephs, Chief People Officer of Ampersand; Quynh Mai, Founder & CEO of Moving Content & Image; Monique Nelson, Chair & CEO of UWG; and Elena Sotomayor, Executive Vice President of Cárdenas Marketing Network.

Prospective entrants can be nominated by themselves, their organization or their manager. All applicants must apply by Friday, September 13, 2019, and the nine successful winners will be chosen by the judges in the final lead up to Advertising Week.

The entry criteria for the Future is Female Awards include:

  • Significant proven achievements over the span of your or your chosen nominee's career
  • Demonstrate how you or your chosen nominee have facilitated change within an organization
  • How you or your chosen nominee act as a role model to others

Each entry should include a maximum 500 word summary for each of the three criteria and an endorsement from either the nominee’s organization or a client.
